Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, May 2, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, May 3 from 5 AM to 5 PM. Traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Eldridge to the I-10 westbound frontage road to SH-6.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at SH-6 on Saturday, May 3 from 5 AM to 5 PM. Traffic will detour right on SH-6, U-turn at Grigsby, to northbound SH-6 to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. The outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between DAIRY ASHFORD and ELDRIDGE and the I-10 westbound entrance ramp east of Dairy Ashford will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 2 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 3. Detour to the Eldridge entrance ramp.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 southbound frontage road at WESTVIEW and the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road flyover bridge beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 2 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 3. Traffic will detour right on Westview, turn left on Brittmoore, right on the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Beltway 8 southbound.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at BELTWAY 8 beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 2 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 3. Traffic will detour right on the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road to Westview, turn left to Brittmoore, and turn left to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BELTWAY 8 between MEMORIAL and WESTVIEW beginning 7 AM, Saturday, May 3 through 5 AM, Monday, May 5. Traffic will be detoured to the respective frontage roads and law enforcement will be stationed throughout the area to facilitate the movement of traffic.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramp to BELTWAY 8 southbound will close effective 5 AM, Sunday, May 4 until October 2008. All I-10 eastbound traffic destined to Beltway 8 northbound and southbound will detour to continue eastbound and take the Gessner exit, U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road, enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes and take the new I-10 westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 northbound. Southbound traffic will exit at Hammerly, U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 southbound mainlanes from Hammerly.
. The right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between KIRKWOOD and BELTWAY 8 and the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from Kirkwood will be closed on Sunday, May 4 from 6:30 AM to NOON.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD./SILBER on Saturday, May 3 from 7 AM to 6 PM. Traffic destined to Chimney Rock/Wirt Rd., Silber, Antoine, or N. Post Oak should detour via the Bingle/Voss exit ramp to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from WASHINGTON ST./WESTCOTT AVE. on Saturday, May 3 from 7 AM to 4 PM. Traffic should detour south on to Washington Ave. to I-10 eastbound to TC Jester, U-turn at the signalized intersection, and enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes at the TC Jester entrance ramp.
. One inside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound mainlanes between WASHINGTON AVE./WESTCOTT ST. and TAYLOR will be closed Saturday, May 3 from 7 AM to 4 PM.

. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between ELDRIDGE and KIRKWOOD overnight beginning 9 PM, Saturday, May 10 until 10 AM, Sunday, May 11. Traffic will detour via the Eldridge exit ramp to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 eastbound mainlanes from Kirkwood.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD./SILBER on Saturday, May 10 from 7 AM to 3 PM. Traffic destined to Chimney Rock/Wirt Rd., Silber, Antoine, or N. Post Oak should detour via the Bingle/Voss exit ramp to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BELTWAY 8 between MEMORIAL and WESTVIEW nightly beginning Friday, May 9 through Monday, May 12 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will be detoured to the respective frontage roads and law enforcement will be stationed throughout the area to facilitate the movement of traffic.
