Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, May 9, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be alternate lane closures on northbound and southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, May 10 from 7 AM to 6 PM.
. One inside lane of northbound SH-6 at PARK ROW will be closed overnight beginning 7 PM, Monday, May 12 until 5 AM, Tuesday, May 13.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BELTWAY 8 between MEMORIAL and WESTVIEW beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 9 through 5 AM, Monday, May 12. Traffic will be detoured to the respective frontage roads and law enforcement will be stationed throughout the area to facilitate the movement of traffic.
. The I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound frontage road between Wilcrest and Beltway 8 will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 9 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 10. Traffic will detour to the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes. Apartment complex access in the area will be maintained.
. The temporary I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound exit ramp to Beltway 8 will close permanently effective 9 PM, Friday, May 9. Motorists destined to the Beltway 8 northbound or southbound frontage roads or mainlanes will now continue eastbound and take the Gessner exit, U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and either (1) take the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 frontage road or (2) take the new I-10 westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 northbound. Northbound traffic will continue north while southbound traffic will exit at Hammerly, U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 southbound mainlanes from Hammerly. Please be advised the new I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound exit ramp to Wilcrest is expected to open by Friday, May 16.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD/SILBER on Saturday, May 10 from 7 AM to 3 PM. Traffic destined for Chimney Rock/Wirt, Silber, Antoine, or N. Post Oak should detour via the Bingle/Voss exit ramp to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. One alternate lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at SILBER will be closed on Saturday, May 10 from 7 AM to 6 PM.
. One alternate lane of northbound and southbound SILBER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed on Saturday, May 10 from 7 AM to 6 PM.
. One alternate lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD. will be closed daily beginning Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. One alternate lane of northbound and southbound CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD. at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed daily beginning Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16 from 9 AM to 3 PM.

CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound GESSNER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 16 until 5 AM, Monday, May 19. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and U-turn through the signalized intersection at Bunker Hill to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Gessner. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road and U-turn at Beltway-8 to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Gessner.
