Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, May 23, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. Two inside lanes of southbound SH-6 from PARK ROW to I- 10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 23 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 24.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Sunday, May 25 until 5 AM, Monday, May 26. Traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Eldridge to the I-10 westbound frontage road to SH-6.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at SH-6 beginning 9 PM, Sunday, May 25 until 5 AM, Monday, May 26. Traffic will detour southbound on SH-6 to Grisby, turn left on Grisby to northbound SH-6 to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound and eastbound mainlanes between ELDRIDGE and PARK TEN overnight beginning 9 PM, Tuesday, May 27 until 5 AM, Wednesday, May 28. Traffic will detour to the respective frontage roads.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Tuesday, May 27 until 5 AM, Wednesday, May 28. Traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Eldridge to the I-10 westbound frontage road to SH-6.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Tuesday, May 27 until 5 AM, Wednesday, May 28. Traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Park Ten to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to SH-6.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound and southbound mainlanes between MEMORIAL and WESTVIEW beginning 10 PM, Friday, May 23 until 5 AM, Monday, May 26. Traffic will detour to the respective frontage roads and re-enter the Beltway 8 mainlanes after I-10. Law enforcement will be stationed in key locations to facilitate traffic movement in the area.

A Glimpse at Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BUNKER HILL at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 5 AM, Monday, June 2. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and U-turn through the signalized intersection at Blalock/Echo Lane to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Bunker Hill. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road and U-turn at Gessner to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access Bunker Hill.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound CAMPBELL at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, May 31 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Traffic should detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, turn right on Blalock and right on Westview to access Campbell.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from BLALOCK/ECHO LANE beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 6 PM, Saturday, May 31. Traffic should continue on the I-10 westbound frontage road and enter I-10 westbound from Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to GESSNER beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 6 PM, Saturday, May 31. Traffic should detour to the Beltway 8 frontage road exit, U-turn at the Beltway 8 frontage road to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access Gessner.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
