Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, May 30, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at ELDRIDGE beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 5 AM, Monday, June 2. Traffic will detour right on Eldridge and U-turn to northbound Eldridge to the I-10 eastbound frontage road or continue south on Eldridge to Memorial, turn left to Dairy Ashford and turn left to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to ELDRIDGE/DAIRY ASHFORD will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 5 AM, Monday, June 2. Traffic will detour to the Kirkwood exit ramp.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 6 AM, Saturday, May 31 until 2 PM, Sunday, June 1. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Eldridge to the I-10 westbound frontage road to SH-6. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Park Ten to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to SH-6.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound frontage road at SH-6 beginning 6 AM, Saturday, May 31 until 5 AM, Sunday, June 1. Traffic will detour south on SH-6, turn left at Grisby to SH-6 northbound to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between WILCREST and DAIRY ASHFORD beginning 9 PM, Saturday, May 31 until 10 AM, Sunday, June 1. Traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
. The BELTWAY 8 northbound and southbound direct connector ramps to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound will be closed Sunday, June 2 from 2 AM to 6 AM. Northbound traffic will detour via the Hammerly exit, U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to the I-10 westbound frontage road. Southbound traffic will detour via the Westview exit to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BELTWAY 8 and TOWN AND COUNTRY LN and the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound U-turn at BELTWAY 8 beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 7 PM, Saturday, May 31. Detour to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and U-turn at Kimberley to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road, turn right on Queensbury, turn left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 7 PM, Saturday, May 31. Traffic will detour right on Queensbury, left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn right on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Gessner, U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BELTWAY 8 and TOWN AND COUNTRY LN and the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound U-turn at BELTWAY 8 beginning Sunday, June 1 from 6 AM to 1 PM. Detour to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and U-turn at Kimberley to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road, turn right on Queensbury, turn left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp to BELTWAY 8 northbound from midnight, Sunday, June 1 through noon, Monday, June 2. Detour to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BUNKER HILL at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 5 AM, Monday, June 2. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Blalock/Echo Lane to the I-10 westbound frontage road to access Bunker Hill. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Gessner to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access Bunker Hill.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound CAMPBELL north of I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 6 AM to 6 PM, Saturday, May 31. Detour to the westbound frontage road to northbound Blalock to eastbound Westview to access Campbell.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound CAMPBELL at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 31. Traffic will detour south on Corbindale to Gaylord.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from BLALOCK and the exit ramp to GESSNER beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 6 PM, Saturday, May 31. Detour to the next ramp.
. One outside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between BLALOCK and GESSNER will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, May 30 until 9 AM, Saturday, May 31.
