Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, June 13, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at SH-6 will be closed beginning 9 PM, Saturday, June 14 until 5 AM, Sunday, June 15. Traffic will detour southbound on SH-6, turn right on Grisby to northbound SH-6 to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at SH-6 will be closed beginning 9 PM, Saturday, June 14 until 5 AM, Sunday, June 15. Traffic will detour northbound on SH-6, turn left on Park Row to southbound SH-6 to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between KIRKWOOD and DAIRY ASHFORD beginning 9 PM, Saturday, June 14 until 8 PM, Sunday, June 15. Traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes west of Dairy Ashford.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between GESSNER and WILCREST and the I-10 westbound entrance ramp from Gessner daily Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 from 5 AM to 8 PM. Traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road and will re-enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes west of Beltway 8.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY daily Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 from 5 AM to 8 PM. Traffic will detour via the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road flyover bridge or turn right on Westview and left on Brittmoore, to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY daily Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 from 5 AM to 8 PM. Traffic will detour via the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road flyover bridge or turn right on Queensbury, left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn right on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Gessner, U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BUNKER HILL at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 13 until 5 AM, Monday, June 16. Traffic should detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn right at Blalock/Echo Lane, and turn right on Gaylord to access Bunker Hill.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound CAMPBELL at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 13 until 5 AM, Monday, June 16. Traffic should detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, turn right on Bingle/Voss Rd., and turn right on Westview to access Campbell.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST and the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from Washington/Westcott will be closed Saturday, June 14 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Detour via I-10 eastbound and take the N. Shepherd/Durham exit, turn left to the I-10 westbound frontage road to enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from T C JESTER BLVD will be closed Saturday, June 14 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Detour via I-10 eastbound and take the N. Shepherd/Durham exit, turn left to the I-10 westbound frontage road to enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes.
