Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, July 11, 2008.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. The new I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound is scheduled to open this weekend, Saturday, July 12!
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between WILCREST and GESSNER and the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from Kirkwood beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 11 until 5 AM, Saturday, July 12 and from 9 PM, Tuesday, July 15 through 5 AM, Wednesday, July 16. Traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and will re-enter the I-10 eastbound mainlanes east of Beltway 8.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 southbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 9 PM, Friday, July 11 until 5 AM, Saturday, July 12 and from 9 PM, Tuesday, July 15 through 5 AM, Wednesday, July 16. Traffic will detour to the I-10/Katy Freeway westbound frontage road, U-turn at Wilcrest to the eastbound frontage road and turn right on the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY continuously beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 11 until 5 AM, Monday, July 14 and from 9 PM, Tuesday, July 15 through 5 AM, Wednesday, July 16. Traffic will detour via the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road flyover bridge or turn right on Queensbury, left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn right on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Gessner, U-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road.
. There will be alternating lane closures on BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound between MEMORIAL and I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed Saturday, July 12 from 6 AM to 3 PM.
. There will be alternating lane closures on BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound between WESTVIEW and MEMORIAL will be closed Saturday, July 12 from 6 AM to 3 PM.
. There will be alternating lane closures on I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between BELTWAY 8 and GESSNER Saturday, July 12 from 7 AM to 3 PM.
. There will be alternating lane closures on I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between WILCREST and GESSNER will be closed 9 PM, Tuesday, July 15 until 5 AM, Wednesday, July 16.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be alternate lane closures on I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between BINGLE/VOSS RD and I-610/WEST LOOP beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 11 until 9 AM, Saturday, July 12. One lane will remain open at all times.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramps to north- and southbound I-610/WEST LOOP beginning 9 PM, Friday, July 11 until 9 AM, Saturday, July 12. I-10 eastbound traffic destined to north- or southbound I-610/West Loop will detour to the Washington Ave./Westcott St. exit and U-turn through the signalized intersection to enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes to access I-610/West Loop north- and southbound.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound at I-610/WEST LOOP beginning 9 AM, Saturday, July 12 until 9 AM, Sunday, July 13. I-10 eastbound traffic will detour to I-610 southbound, exit Woodway, and U-turn to enter the I-610 northbound mainlanes to I-10 eastbound.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY HOV lane from 6 AM, Saturday, July 12 through 9 PM, Sunday, July 12.
. The GESSNER slip ramp entrance to the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound HOV lane will close PERMANENTLY at 6 AM, Saturday, July 12.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY entrance ramp from BLALOCK/ECHO LANE from 9 PM, Friday, July 11 through 6 AM, Sunday, July 13. Detour to the Silber tunnel entrance ramp.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be alternate lane closures on I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between I-610/WEST LOOP and WASHINGTON AVE./WESTCOTT ST. from 9 PM, Friday, July 11 through 10 PM, Saturday, July 12. One lane will remain open at all times.
. One outer lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between WASHINGTON AVE./WESTCOTT ST. will be closed from 6 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, July 12.
. One outer lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound will be closed from 9 AM to 3 PM daily on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from SHEPHERD/DURHAM to TC JESTER from 9 PM, Tuesday, July 15 through 5 AM, Wednesday, July 16. Exit at Shepherd to the westbound frontage road and re-enter the mainlanes after TC Jester.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from WASHINGTON AVE./WESTCOTT ST. to I-610/WEST LOOP from 9 PM, Wednesday, July 16 through 5 AM, Thursday, July 17. raffic will be detoured to exit at Washington Avenue, to make a right and continue to Old Katy Road to access the I-10 westbound frontage road and enter the I-10/Katy Freeway at Antoine.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramps to I-610/WEST LOOP north- and southbound beginning 9 PM, Wednesday, July 16 through 5 AM, Thursday, July 17. I-10 westbound traffic destined to I-610 northbound will detour to Old Katy Road and turn right to the I-610 northbound frontage road and enter the I-610 mainlanes before 18th Street. I-10 westbound traffic destined to I-610 southbound will detour to Old Katy Road, make a left on North Post Oak to access the I-610 southbound frontage road and enter the I-610 mainlanes after Woodway.

. There will be a TOTAL PERMANENT CLOSURE of the ANNE STREET at I-10/KATY FREEWAY starting 9 AM, Saturday, July 19.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. One outer lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound will be closed from 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, July 19.
