Houston TranStar Announces $21 Million Expansion Plans

Houston TranStar will unveil a $21 million expansion plan for the organization during its 10th anniversary celebration on May 15. The multi-agency organization, which has been providing traffic management, emergency preparedness and community support to greater Houston since 1996, was the single-gathering place for key officials during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. These community emergencies highlighted the need for greater expansion of TranStar’s operations.

WHEN: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 15

WHERE: Houston TranStar Lobby

In addition to Harris County Judge Robert Eckels and Mayor Pro Tem Michael Berry, several honored guests will be on hand for the celebration, held just before the kickoff of the 2006 Hurricane Season beginning June 1.

Houston TranStar’s mission is to provide the best transportation and emergency management services through the use of our collective resources to maximize safety and mobility to the public.
