Women Professionals in Government Commences Its 2008-2009 Speaker Series
Women’s networking event provides keys to success working in the government and in private/public industry

Houston, Texas (Aug. 19, 2008) Enjoy the Women Professionals in Government (WPG) first networking luncheon for the 2008-2009 season, Sept. 4, 2008 at The Houston Club.

WPG, a women’s professional organization, meets on the 1st Thursday of every month at The Houston Club, at a networking luncheon which hosts speaker presentations.

“This year’s speaker presentation theme is Love what you do, Do what you Love,” said Susan McMillian, President of the WPG. “Join us to hear about how women are making strides in their respective communities by sharing their passions and making a difference.”

Kicking off the speaker’s series is Andrea White. Ms. White, is a wife, mother of three, a recognized author, an education advocate, and a good friend to many as well as Houston’s First Lady-a role she views as a truly unique and wonderful volunteer job. In her volunteer jobs, White focuses on education, children’s issues, and outreach opportunities that bring people together to get things done in Houston. Come hear her speak on doing what she loves and loving what she does, as well as more on her new book.

WPG was organized 26 years ago to provide knowledge, skills, and support for women working in the public sector and all related fields career growth. The organization expanded its mission to also provide scholarships to young women pursuing degrees in public service and to provide grants to non-profits serving women and children within the Greater Houston area.
