Kennedy Blvd Closed Incident expected to last until mid-afternoon Houston TranStar officials are notifying area travelers that all east- and westbound lanes of Beltway 8 at John F. Kennedy Blvd. are blocked by an incident involving two overturned 18-wheelers. One truck collided with the center lane lighting system, so power must be turned off in the area. Emergency personnel are en route to the scene. Cleanup is expected to last until midafternoon, so travelers are advised to consider taking an alternate route or delaying their departure times. Houston TranStar is an alliance of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
