Media Contact: Dinah Massie 713.881.3244 Heavy Truck Accident Closes Main Lanes of I-10 Katy eastbound at Shepherd/Durham Travelers are urged to choose another route or time Houston TranStar officials are advising eastbound travelers on I-10 the Katy Freeway that all main lanes at the Shepherd/Durham exit are closed because of an accident involving a heavy truck. The big rig leaked fuel and the spill must be cleaned up before lanes can be re-opened. The situation is expected to continue through the rush period. Travelers are urged to consider taking an alternate route or changing their departure times to avoid significant delays. Houston TranStar is a consortium of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
