December 14, 2012 Media Contact: Dinah Massie 713-881-3244 I-610 South Loop Westbound at Telephone Road Closed Closure is expected to last through the rush hour Houston TranStar officials are notifying the public that a fatality accident at the I-610 South Loop at Telephone Road has closed all westbound main lanes. The westbound entrance ramp is blocked, with traffic forced to continue on the access road. The closure and resulting traffic congestion is expected to last through the rush hour, so travelers are strongly urged to take another route or choose another departure time. Houston TranStar is a consortium of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
