July 12, 2013; 4:40 PM Media Contact: Dinah Massie 713-881-3244 UPDATE: Freeway Lanes Closed on Westbound IH-10 the East Freeway at IH-45 North TxDOT Bridge Inspector on Site TxDOT’s bridge inspector is on scene and reviewing freeway infrastructure to assess for damage on the westbound lanes of IH-10 East Freeway and IH-45 North. An overturned 18-wheeler with a lost roll of steel closed all westbound lanes of the freeway. No time estimate is available for reopening of those lanes. Westbound travelers are being detoured onto US 59 South. Houston TranStar is a consortium of four government agencies that coordinate and enhance transportation and emergency management services, responding to incidents and emergencies in Harris County and beyond. Sharing their resources to serve area residents are: the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Harris County, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the City of Houston. -30- |
