Now we have expanded technological capabilities and the space to centrally house resources for improved coordination of evacuations and other emergency response and recovery efforts.” TranStar’s expansion also benefits the public in non-emergency situations by providing state-of-the-art monitoring systems for around-the-clock transportation and incident management. Through shared resources, TranStar continues to eliminate costly duplication of services and save billions of taxpayer dollars. # # # Houston TranStar is a unique collaboration of representatives from the City of Houston, Harris County, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), who share resources and exchange information under one roof to provide transportation management and emergency management. TranStar works to keep motorists informed, roadways clear and lives safe in the fourth most populated city in the United States. |
