ZACHRY-ODEBRECHT ACHIEVES CONSTRUCTION MILESTONE
WORK CREWS COMPLETE BEAMS AND BRIDGEWORK FOR GRAND PARKWAY SEGMENTS F-G
The Grand Parkway Segments F-G reached a significant milestone this month. Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders completed setting 100% of the beams and bridge decks stretching the 38 mile roadway. In total, 121 bridge decks were poured and 3,802 concrete beams were set. The structures work started with the first bridge shaft in July of 2013 and the final deck pour being completed earlier this month. Bridge structures and beam casting work totaled approximately 1.9 million work hours.
Segments F- G of the Grand Parkway will be a controlled access parkway with four lanes, two lanes each direction and intermittent frontage roads. Segments are anticipated to open to traffic in the first quarter of 2016. SH 99/Grand Parkway Segments F - G connect the communities of Cypress, Spring and New Caney.
